Hats are happiness
Starting out the year with nothing of significant note. All I really want to do is knit myself a slouchy sort of hat.

The yarn I'm using is this:

"Horton" on BFL by Bugsnugger (mine has the blue as the trim, not the pink, as is a little more vibrant)

I haven't learned to cable yet (that's a project for this year) and anyway, I think the yarn is too colorful to add much of a design to it.

[Poll #1663440]

Felicity

My Striped & Slouchy Hat

Minty (non-stripy variety)

One more suggestion from my ravely queue: verity. If you look through other people's projects it looks lovely in a varigated yarn and I think it would be really cute with the band done with your solid trim. And BUTTON!!

Verity is a little more beret-like than I was looking for. I did check that one out, but don't like the nipply bit at the top. ;)

You can always just not knit that part! :-) But yeah, it is more of a beret.

It says I have to log in to see the hats.
I am sad, I want to see hats.
HATS!

Yeah, you have to have a Ravelry account to see them. I'll c&p pics.

I'm looking at the poll results, and the funniest part is the knitters have mostly voted for Minty, the non-knitters for the slouchy hat.

I did that, too. I like Minty for the star-like details during what I presume are the decreases at the crown. Felicity just doesn't have the same style to the crown.

I saw Felicity, although I like MSSH more - but I think it requires stripes. IMO. Which could not knit any of these right now. :D

I've seen some unstriped or minimally striped versions of it and they still look really cute.

Really? Okay, then go for that! I certainly like that pattern better, but don't know how to change my answer. :)

Here's a good example of it w/ minimal striping (plus, this chick is adorable):

This is very similar to the look I'd end up with, too.
